(More customer reviews)I purchased this DVD because I was looking for a longer, more intense cycling workout that I could do indoors.I wasn't disappointed--this is grueling.I am an avid cyclist (not professional nor a racer) and I believe this workout has definitely helped my leg strength.I do it about once a week, and when I put full effort into it I definitely need to take the following day as a light workout day or a full recovery day.
Few things--this is not strictly a cycling workout, it includes leg strength exercises like squats and jumps.First time you do it, you'll need to watch a separate chapter on the DVD for guidance on form for the squats and jumps.And, be sure to have separate shoes for the jumps if you're wearing clipless cycling shoes...can't really jump in those.(Note: for people with knee problems/concerns, the trainer offers alternate exercises to the jumps, which is good.)Also, I have a few other Spinervals DVDs, but this is the first one I've owned that included guidance for people on a spin bike (rather than on a road bike in a trainer) and that is much appreciated as well.With this DVD, I'm not trying to figure out what Big Ring-15 and Big Ring-12 mean in terms of resistance on my spin bike.
